The beautiful island country- Srilanka houses a gamut of attractions but getting around the island can be a daunting task if you are not well prepared in advance or know how to get about visiting the different places it houses. Getting around around the island- Srilanka in many ways adds to the excitement of touring this island country.
Srilankans follow left hand driving and it is advisable for you to avoid travelling alone in the nights or to remote places. The taxis with their yellow tops and red white plates are metered but still it is advised you discuss with the driver an approximate amount and be ready to pay at least a ten percent tip, it is an expected tip by the drivers. Tuktuks are highly recommended only for shot travels and quick tours within short distances. Day 1
Air Port – Colombo
Discover Sri Lanka tour starts on your arrival in Sri Lanka, welcome by a representative of and transfer to Colombo. Afternoon City Tour of Colombo.Overnight Stay hotel at Colombo.
Day 2
Colombo – Elephant Orphanage – Sigiriya – Anuradhapura
After Breakfast Leave to Sigiriya. En route visit Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela. After Lunch Climb the Sigiriya Lion Rock. Overnight stay hotel at Anuradhapura.
Day 3
Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Anuradhapura
After Breakfast Leave to Polonnaruwa, After lunch excursion Anuradhapura. Visit Reservoirs, and beautifully landscaped gardens, the ruins. Overnight stay hotel at Habarana.
Day 4
Sigiriya – Dambulla – Kandy
After Breakfast Leave to Kandy. En route visit Dambulla Cave Temple, Batik Factory & Spice Garden.
After lunch Kandy City Tour, visit Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic, & witness a cultural show. Overnight stay hotel at Kandy.
Day 5
Kandy – Royal Botanical Garden – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route visit Royal Botanical Garden, Gem Museum & Factory, Tea Plantation & Factory and waterfalls. En route stop at water-fall for a short break. Overnight stay hotel Nuwara Eliya.
Day 6
Nuwara Eliya – Yala Jeep Safari
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route stop at Rawana water-fall for a short break. After noon Jeep Safari in Yala National Park. Overnight stay hotel at Yala.
Day 7
Yala – Dutch Fort – Turtle Hatchery
After breakfast proceed to Beach or Negombo. En route visit Dutch Fort Galle and Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda. Later you will be transferred to the Beach Hotel. Overnight stay hotel at Bentota or Negombo.
Day 8
Bentota or Negombo – Air Port
After Breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Air port for the Departure.
