Situated at a 7 kilometer distance from Valpoi, the Brahma temple Goa is located at a distance of 60 kilometres from Panaji. The famous Brahma temple is located in the Brahma Carambolim in the Satari Taluka. The Brahma temple is dedicated to Hindu God Brahma and it is the only temple in Goa that is dedicated to the Hindu god Brahma. The importance of the temple is high for reasons like it is one amongst very few Brahma temples in India. There are temples dedicated to several Hindu gods in India but very few that are dedicated to Lord Brahma hence its religious significance is high for the Hindu community.

Brahma is respected as the god of creation and he is one of the main gods amongst the other two Hindu Gods who are together called the Trimurthi. The Brahma temple Goa was believed to be built in the 5th century. The temple is treated as an ancient pilgrim centre for the Hindu’s. The temple attracts pilgrims and travellers from different parts of the country and not just Goa. The temple comprising of Lord Brahma’s image in Carambolim is believed to be brought here by the staunch devotees who were believed to be survivors from religious intolerance.

Banastari

Situated at a distance of about 17 kilometres from Panaji off the road to Ponda is a junction called Banastari. The town of Mashel is extremely picturesque and very close to it is located Banastari. Goa has become an international tourist destination but besides a tourist destination it is also a prominent pilgrims centre housing well known Hindu temples.

The Shree Devikrishna temple

The Shree Devikrishna temple management offers its pilgrims a place to stay. The temple complex has 30 extremely convenient and spacious rooms, along with attached bathrooms. 24 hours hot and cold water facility is available. There are other temples in the vicinity that also make the Shree Krishna temple a main Hindu temple worth paying visit to. The temple complex also houses a common room comprising of toilet, bath and resting area.

The Shree Devikrishna temple is open in the morning from 6:30am to 1:00pm.  In the evenings pilgrims can visit the temple from 3:00pm to 8:30pm. Everyday artis are performed between 12:30pm and 8:30 pm. Devotees can pay their offerings and prayers during these times.

The Shree Devikrishna temple houses the image of the Devikrishna. The temple charges a meagre rate for the Sevas conducted. The amount varies from Rs 5 to Rs 150 and more depending on the type of Seva you request. Pilgrims and tourist who wish to request a seva can make use of the services the temple offers. From a Sadha to Nandadeep pilgrims can request for any seva depending on their needs.
