Colva church

Our Lady of Mercy church

Our Lady of Mercy church is another prominent place of worship and attraction in the Colva beach Goa. The church houses the famous statue of Menino Jesus (Baby Jesus). The annual Fama festival is when the baby Jesus statue is brought out for public viewing. For the remainder of the period the statue is kept locked in a triple vault lock of the church. The statue is dipped in the nearby river after a procession and the water is used for anointment and good luck after that.

With a hot and humid climate for a major portion of the year, Colva witnesses scorching heat during the month of May. Most of Colva’s annual rainfall continues till late September. Colva beach Goa is a prominent place of relaxation for tourists seeking a holiday experience.
