There are two amusement parks namely Silver Storm and Dream World that make the place more exciting.

Vazhachal:

Visitors cannot avoid staying in this part of region, which is very close to Athirappalli falls. This dense forest is actually a part of Chalakudy River.

Elephant sanctuary:

In Punnathur Kotta is the  place you must visit. You can watch the 60 elephants and their activities. One cannot but wonder at the world’s largest elephant park.

Snehatheeram beach:

You can locate this beach at a distance of 23 km from the town. You can also find many beach resorts and fishing boats nearby this location.

Chavakad Beach:

People love to linger in this beach, as this is the best one in the whole west coast. The beauty and the scenery are rare spectacles to watch and enjoy. You can access this beach at a 25 kms distance from the city.

Among many literary associations, Kerala Kalamandalam is very popular. Sri Vallathol Narayana Menon started this establishment. The main aim of this club is to promote Mohiniyattom and Katahkali dances of Kerala.
